Installing Trans am seats in a Camaro
A buddy of mine has a set of really nice seats out of his 98 Trans Am he's going to give me for 100$. I have a 93 z28 Camaro. My drivers seat in the Camaro is power, and the drivers seat in the Trans Am is also power.
My question is....
Will the 98 Trans Am seats bolt right to the 93 Camaro seat brackets? I'm getting the seats from him without his factory brackets.
Also, will the power seat harness from the 98 plug right into the 93's? Or will I have to do some re-wiring?

Sweet! But I need to use my Camaro brackets for the Trans Am seats, since he isn't giving me his brackets. The Trans Am seats will bolt right up to the Camaro brackets no problem?

You are going to need the wiring harness to get the side boltsters to work! It runs underneath the center console and links the air pump and electric to both seats. If your friend is giving you the seats have him give you the harness as well. Not really worth doing the swap twice.
I installed them in my car about a year ago. For some reason I had to unbolt the seat brackets and reroute the vac. tubes to get them to reach the harness though.

Hmm... yeah that's pretty interesting, I'm no expert but I've never heard of the side bolsters being adjustable on those seats. If they are, that's pretty awesome lol.
Anyone know?

I have no idea about your question but I will say good luck and hope it works out for ya and if you dont mind, post up pics of the swap when/if you get it done. I'd like to see the swap.

Not all Trans Am seats had the power bolster sides..Some did, some didn't. If you look under the passengers seat he is giving you, there should be a pump. If you see a pump under it, then yes those seats have the power bolster option.
Or you can simply look at the wiring harness he will give you and see if there are "vacuum tubes" in there.

I always loved this feature in the Trans Am's! That is why I made the upgrade.

Good thread guys.
I am going to be doing this same swap. I own both a 98 Trans Am and a 93Z28. The TA is down and the Zs front seats are pretty rough. I plan, probably 2mrw, to remove the TA seats to put them in the Z. If I decide not to use the lumbar, will everything else just bolt in and work properly? I.E. the tracks and power. The rear seat in the TA is shot so it will more than likely stay until I can find a better one. Thanks.
