Detroit Auto show concept SS
I saw a picture in our local news paper of Chevys new SS concept to replace the Camaro.
Did anyone eles see it yet? It has four doors and over 400 H.Ps maybe someone could scan and post it.
Oh and by the way it's also Red the way an SS should be

There was a picture in the local news paper but no article about it, looked good for a sedan. I really like the SSR, hopefully they'll get the plant started soon so we can see some on the road.

Re: Detroit Auto show concept SS
Doesnt look too bad, but its not my cup of tea to be honest with ya...
And i cant stand GM comming out w/ all these different concept vehicles, then producing "lame ***" stuff. Theres been two Silverado SSs one w/ a 6.0L and a 4L60E (back in 99/00 was a gold reg cab/short bed) and then that 6.6L one. Neither saw production, but then they give us the 03 AWD Silverado SS that just gets embarrassed by Lightnings. GMs concept - production route kinda sucks here lately. They need to pull it together and actually somewhat base the production cars on the concepts, imo. Granted, the public may crave the SUV, and the economical sedan, but if GM can get almost 30mpg and have 405hp, i dont see why they cant give us a low/mid 300hp sporty vehicle that can actually sell and make a good profit...
Sorry, just venting a little bit

**DISCLAIMER**
THIS IS MY OPINION
That thing is fooking hidious. Jon Moss is the only person at GM with his head above water. It resembles nothing that I would consider a "muscle car" It looks more like something I saw in minority report with Tom Cruise. It also has a similar lines as the new 745i BMW. If its going to be the future camaro replacement, make it look agressive, mean, menacing. That is anything but agressive. If that is what eventually sees the showrooms, I will personally disavowe any knowlege that the camaro has been brought back into production. I hope that thing never sees more production other than the one at the show.
Sorry for a bit of a rant but thats my story and I'm stickin' to it

four doors...wtf are they thinking...that better NEVER say camaro on it, thats for sure...i totally agree w/ nataSS. that has to be one of the fugliest things i have ever seen...and to have chevrolet say its theirs makes it even worse...imo, four doors and sports car dont belong in the same sentence i dont like ANY of their concept cars, but thats just my opinion...

Yes, it does suck.
But... did you read the specs on the Cadillac Sixteen? I NEED a 13.6l V16 engine that outputs over 1000 hp!

Re: Detroit Auto show concept SS
I kinda like it actually. They didn't say it would
be a "camaro", but an SS sedan. Although it does
harken back to the early gen 2 "split front bumper" camaro, which i LOVE.
Four doors, well, better for getting small
children in the backseat. I could live with it.
Kinda how Ford is going to the 67-68 fastback for
its concept Mustang. I don't know which I like
better, but I like them both. "Retro" styling
seems to be all the rage these days, and I like
what they are doing. The ultimate for me would
be if they made a brand new first gem camaro with
todays technology under the hood and throughout
the car. How bad a$$ would that be!?!

Re: Detroit Auto show concept SS
I absolutely hate any retro design. Now with no more Camaro, I was planning on getting a Mustang in the future but the 05 also is a retro POS. If this car ever has the Camaro nameplate on it with 4 doors It will never be seen in my driveway either. I hope Mopar can make me a fast original car in the future that dosent play into past vehicle designs.

Ugh...
If I wanted a BMW Z3, I'd buy one. Now we don't even have the woefully inadequate Mustang to fall back on. THAT'S IT!!! I'm going to buy an SUV, a minivan, and a camper. I QUIT!!!
