I saw an article in Hot Rod or something like that a year or two ago (they made a center console shifter cover out of it), for a simple to use believe it was fiberglass, that comes in square sheets that can have or not have wire mesh on the back. You simply form it to the shape you want, and expose to sunlight or UV lamp to harden. I have been trying to locate it online, but unable to do so as of today? Anyone know who sells it or the name of the product?
