refurbishing clear coat
i had the car painted, oh, 6yrs ago. about 3yrs ago i got side swiped. had to have the front passenger fender repainted. well now, the clear coat in the repainted fender is shot.
was wondering what would be the best way to get the shine back, if possible. i tried taking a couple of pics to show the difference.

It would have to be in the very early stages for that.
To the OP do you see any "stress cracking" in the clear? Or is it just cloudy and hazed over?
Unless the person who repainted it didn't apply thick enough clear or just wetsanded too far and polished it out.
Could be a number of things.

When the clear coat fails. There is no fixing it, it needs to be redone.
All you can do is a test spot and your going to need a buffer, a good cutting pad and Meguiar's 105 and see if you can get some correction. If that was a 2 stage job that much oxidation occured then you may have bigger issues then you might think.

Start combing through this and you will get the idea.
