Default 2002 HVAC Control *****?

It looks like my 2yr old daughter found a way t obreak the **** on my HVAC control panel on my 02 trans am. THe **** was free spinning and just came off in my hand. THe metal retainer clip is still on the post and the plastic stalk on the **** is cracked. I looked everywhere and I can not find jsut the **** for sale. I did find the headlight ****. Is it the same? Also how the heck can I get that metal retainer off the metal stalk on the control unit. I can not even get the other **** to come off, I was worried about the same thing happening to them trying to remove the two good ***** left.

I found the earlier one for 7$ a piece, I ordered all three. On another auction they were listed for 93-2002, so I am hoping they are the same. THe ones for the later year cars were listed for 25$ or so a piece.

BTW, found out you cannot get jsut the ***** from GM , the whole console runs around 135$, so that would explain the high price of used ones a bit.

Maybe someone with a early model car can confirm that they do indeed light up like the later cars. Thye looks identical to me, the ones I bought even showed a view from the back.

Same thing happened to my 2002. I just went to the dealer and bought a new one, but it was like $25 as mentioned earlier. Mine had just cracked over the years from the heat and cold I guess, and when I went to turn the system on it just came off in my hand.

I got one at GM for my wifes 98 z. I was about $8 if I remember right. The dealer has them. It was the blower speed control ****. The metal clip removed with a scribe. Took all of 2 minutes to get the old clip off and put the new **** on.

Got my ***** in today I ordered off ebay. They were for a 96 and worked just fine on my 2002. They matched perfect. Don't spend the 25$ most want for the newer *****. All 93-2002 are the same for the TA anyway

The early **** at least for Camaro's don't light up. Had to replace a broken one on my 95 Camaro several years ago, I got a set of 3 off Ebay for a decent price that where off a 02 Camaro so I changed all 3 so they would mach.
