Question Paging N.Y. LS1 - Header Polishing

I found your post on header polishing.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...790#post572790

I just ordered my set of Kooks and will also be polishing them when they arrive. Your set of headers looked great in the pictures. I was wondering how they looked right after install and after some heat cycles. If you have pictures that would be awesome. Did they discolor much?

TIA

I think QTP does it regardless. but i am not sure......

i thought i read some where that before QTP headers are shipped they clean them and polish them.... but i am not sure...hm... i have to find out..

but its fairly easy to polish them your self with the never dull ....just rub it against the header... and then wipe it off....

i just asked a buddy of mine..he said that QTP cleans them up as well as possible... and polishes them a bit......but for that super crazy polishing you have to do it your self...

can you use mother's aluminum polish on them, or do you need a different kind of polish?

I got the Kooks stainless its not as easy as he makes it seem to polish them. I was using stainless compound and a buffing wheel on a 10,000 rpm grinder and it took me 2 hous a tube, after two tubes my brother was laughing at me saying they are going to look like **** anyway. Sent them out to jethot and fo 250 they are chrome looking and ceramic coated inside and out which will lower your under hood temps also keeping your coil packs, wires etc from burning up. If you use them make sure you tell them your from this website to get the dicount. Mark

I have kooks stainless headers and y-pipe as well. I polished them just like Jay( N.Y. LS1) did. I used never dull to get anything off that would come off, then used mothers metal polish. they came out great. After they have been installed for a little while they will discolor, brownish haze. Its the polish burning off. So yeah it looks great polished up. in retrospect I would have only used the never dull. JMO You can also contact jay over on www.fastls1.com, hes red98z on there, but he hasn't been on all that much lately...
