Default Window Tint Removal

I need my windows tinted. The sides are not done, the hatch is tinted. The hatch tint is bubbling in several places and looks terrible.

Is there a good way to remove the rear tint without damaging the defroster lines?

Thanks!

Jon

Im just using a razor blade on mine currently, just being careful

however, idk what the weather is like there, if its warm, let it sit under the sun for a few hours, then turn your rear defrost on for 20 min or so...

then start pulling on the edge, a heat gun can also help... if it rips, use a razor blade to get it started again

Just be careful of the lines, use some razor blades and Windex.

For the rear with the defrost use ammonia and a scotch bright pad to get the sticky stuff off. It works great and no issues with the lines for the defrost. For the tint itself, tear it off (will probably come off in pieces) and use a razor blade on the edges of the tint away from the defrost lines.

I just removed tint from my camaro using a steamer. My mom has a steamer for clothes and it worked perfect. I peeled up a corner using a razor blade and steamed the inside of the window with it from where the tint was peeled to about 8" away and just kept pulling the tint to where it was tight. It gradually pulled off including most of the adhesive.

You can pick up a steamer super cheap at walmart or big lots.

Cut a black trash bag to fit your back window. Use soapy water to stick in the inside over the whole window. Park in sun for hour then peel tint. If that doesn't work your scrubbing lol. Don't use a razor if you want defrost to still work lol

Ya steaming it makes it so much easier, but like said in an earlier post cutting a trash bag and putting it inside the hatch glass works very well too.
