Default Trans Am Seat Question

I recently bought a 99 T/A and i had a question about the seats. My seats are charcoal grey like the rest of the interior, but they don't have the "gills" on the side, nor are the power buttons like the ones with the gills on the side( i have black ***** ). Did they offer different seat trims or what?

are your seats cloth?

I think only leather seats have the gills on the side.

Those "gills" are part of the optional lumbar support seats. This was a common option and is found on most Trans Ams but it actually wasn't standard, not even on the leather seats.

got it cause i guess this one was pretty basic 2:73 gears etc. I guess my next question is how hard would it be to swap them out, cause ,,,, A. they are ugly and B. I like the head rest in the other ones. Is all the wiring there or should i just accept my cheap seats

The head rests are the same between these two seat options. There was a different style head rest for the '97 and earlier Trans Ams (there were a few early '98 cars that also received this older style head rest).

So your saying that the 98+ with the lumbar etc are direct replacements?

Yes, just make sure that when you get the seats you get the power/lumbar harness as well. They have been discontinued and are a bitch to find.
