when detailing, you guys watch out around emblems & mouldings?
Hey all,
I recently purchased the Porter Cable 7424xp and im looking for advice on detailing my black cts-v. I plan to order some pads from autogeek but for the wax i was planning on using meguiars Ultimate series lineup along with their clay bar kit (clay, compound, polish, wax).
Now the only detailing Ive done before was by hand and was really careful around mouldings and emblems, but I would still get the trim pieces stained even when trying to be careful. Ive never used masking tape but I may look into this for protecting the mouldings.
Is there a difference using a orbital buffer with reaching behind mouldings and trim to get those areas where the paste might "creep" into by using the pad to get behind the area, water does not work because I washed my car atleast 10 times and still residue was left and quite visible. any tips would be helpful.
Thanks

When i do paint correction on cars i always tape the trims, badges so i wont stain them and come back and clean them. Now i always stay away from sharps edges and such because it can destroy your pads.
