When I had my 95 Trans Am, I really loved them. Its a great design ergonomically, and I could rest my head against them without it seeming forced, when they were adjusted in the full forward position. But, the adjusting mechanism is an EXTREMELY poor design. I bought my Trans Am brand new in 95, and after about 6 months the adjusters would never hold their position and the dealer could never get it back to like new. In addition, they rattle and make alot of noise as the headrest, by nature of the design, the headrest is wobbly a bit, not nice and tight like it should be. The plastic bottom part of the headrest, rattles on the plastic shell part of the seat.
A+++++++ for design and the feel, F- for execution.
I never tried to improve or see if I could re-engineer the adjusting mechanisms, as I swapped in cloth firebird seats in mine to rid myself of hard, rattling LT1 era lumbar seats
