Default 57 Chevy Bel Air tag team correction

One of the earlier jobs Bob and I worked together on....a 57 chevy for a client of his....

Bob and I went mobile to tackle this hot rod 57 Chevy Bel Air. Originally scheduled for a ~70% correction, with some work and testing multiple combinations we were able to yield about 90% correction on this classic. While not a full correction, it was a huge transformation and far beyond what the owner was expecting.

Onto the pics!

After its wash, we brought it inside to start claying.

Here I am claying

Pics of wash induced marring and heavy swirls and RIDS

Some super crazy RIDS. Kinda looks like fish bones to me....

Myself working the GG 6" DA with the Megs cutting MF pad

50/50 on the driver's fender

Driver's door and quarter needed some help

Door looking much better and the quarter followed soon after

Trunk was pretty rough too

50/50 shot

Wheels polished to a much better shine. They really needed a full dismount and machine polishing, but that wasn't in the cards for this detail.

Finished pics

My favorite shot!

Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoyed!

Here is a quote from Bob's part of the writeup.

As Jeff said we had a looooonnnnggg day, I got there early to meet with the client and get the wash going as Jeff was coming in from over 75 miles away. As you can see the car was in dire need and a full correction in my estimation would have took both of us two and a half days easy.

Car looks nice and I hope the photo shoot went well that it was cleaned up for.

I know nothing about detailing, so sorry if this is a dumb question.

Why do you tape off sections? Is it part of the process or just for pictures to show progress? Some other reason?

Great job!
