Default Need to replace carpet, what's the most comparable to OEM?

I just bought a 2001 SS and the carpet is in so/so shape, but it's worn out by the accel pedal and it is starting to take on that 11 year old car/air freshener smell. I am wanting to pull the interior out, clean everything up really well, replace the carpet and seats with a set of Corbeau's. I will leave the rear seats out as I will never use them.

It seems that Stockinteriors and ACC are the two biggest names in replacement carpet. I am just wondering of those of you who have done this, what the best option is. I am wanting something that fits as close to stock as possible, if not better. Also looking for something that will hold up. I don't mind trimming to fit, but I don't really want to deal with carpet that doesn't fit the stock mold.

Thanks!

I am going to have to piggy back off this thread.

I bought replacement carpet from Classic Industries... not precut... not premolded... not a good fit

Giving Sponsor Biz...

Speed Inc
OEM Replacement Carpet
Nothing improves your interior like a new GM Licensed Carpet Set. Quality Premium 100% Nylon material with thick jute padding for sound deadening. **For racers who want to reduce weight, the jute padding can be removed prior to installation.

itemno description price buy
TP53213 93-02 Camaro/Firebird Carpet w/o Hatch *Specify Color $159.99 buy
TP53320 93-02 Camaro/Firebird Carpet w/ Hatch $299.99 buy

---------------

Another LIGHT WEIGHT alternative is Ozite, not as durable but do able, just no real sound deadending ability. Made to look like carpet and qualify for race classes that need the OEM look but these are a fraction of the weight.

I used ACC, fits ok... Had to really trim and fit to make it right. If i was to do it again i would buy OEM. Plug and play, perfect fit, no triming. Trust me i had like 1ft of extra carpet the entire perimeter. Fit the pans well though.

You can't buy oem, that's the prob. Has anyone tried the carpet from stock interiors.com?

I bought from stockinteriors.com Haven't put it in yet, still finishing up the painting. They will send you samples of the actual material for the perfect match. Quality looks pretty good, premolded. Just haven't put it in the car. Will do this weekend though

It is normal for new carpet to have extra on the perimeter.

When I replaced the carpet in my camaro I bought it on ebay. I was able to find used carpet that was in really good condition. Installation was very easy since it was original carpet.
