Default antenna shave?

Do you guys have any idea how much it would cost to have the antenna shaved off and how much of the quarter panel would need repainted. My dad thinks that the whole quarter panel would need repainted.

I would have to agree with your dad, being that if you only painted 1 section it would leave lines in the paint which would be visible and wouldnt look good. Shaving the antenna would requre a patch and fill of some sort and probably would cost a few hundred bucks, best thing to do is go around to body shops and see what they want to charge. Hope it helps

If the body shop does it right, the rear quarter would be filled with filler and they would blend in the existing paint on the panel so it will match. I would say around $200.

Wadaya mean right? The right way is to weld in a patch. The cheap/easy route is to use filler.

Betcha it would be a lot more than $200... my guess is in the $500 range.. weld in the patch.. fill, smooth and block it.. paint it, clear it and then color sand and buff it.

Plus not only do you have to worry about the paint matching but the finish matching also..

The power antenna is a fine fine option unless you have to get your quarter painted anyways..

My power antenna broke so I cut the plastic piece and took out the motor. All stations still come in and the antenna is always down. Not a bad apperance mod.

im having my antenna shaved right now. i can get a price for you if you like, but if you dont live near chicago it wont do you you any good. i was wondering, would anyone here know what to replace the antenna with after i eliminate it? by the way, you need to weld a piece in, and then fill it. body shop guy told me if a fat chick leans on just the filler, you get the hole back.
