AfterMarket hood question?

AfterMarket hood question? I will be getting my SS Hood soon and was wondering if I have to get different hood shock's or if I can use the factory one's. I have heard when people use the factory shock's with a aftermarket hood it will fly open when you go to open the hood. Because the shock are made to open a metal hood not aftermarket. Any input would really help.

I just put on an ASCD SS Hood. Used all the stock brackets / latches / struts. It opens more easily then the stock metal hood did but it doesnt "fly" up at an unreasonable rate or anything. It does open faster though. Use the stock stuff... you'll be fine

When I got my WS6 hood aftermarket they said not to use the stock struts. They gave me a prop rod. Works perfectly and I don't have to worry about voiding my warranty on the hood.
