Default Pics of NXT

Since everyone is trying to find more info about NXT, I'll share my knowledge. So far, it's an awesome product. I have two coats on and it's amazing: far better than any other product I've tried (haven't tried Zaino) First, I think the ease of application is worth it alone. I just can't get over the shine, either. Very deep, and very reflective. It's been raining here the last couple of days and the water sheds off very nicely. Well, I guess I'll stop stalling and just show the pics

Here you go...

Mike, I think it's funny you ask that: just about everyone else that sees it asks too

My dad found it at a truck parts store. I guess it's part of an intake for a semi truck. It's a "rubber-like" hose that was cut shorter and painted on the outside. I think it's an intake "elbow" or something like that. I really should get my facts straight one of these days, considering how many people ask

I have one coat each of color X and NXT. I will be adding more NXT very soon. I am extremly happy with it so far. Plus its nice to be able to run up to Advanced Auto and be able to bet it.

Comes off as easily as it goes on

I'll never use anything else again.

I used the ColorX and NXT together on my truck. I have never seen it look s good (I also have never used Zaino). But both of these products we about 12 bucks each. The application of both was easy as was the removal. I think for the price and ease of use, there is nothing out there than can compare.

Sounds like a good plan you had there.

Once I have more time/money this summer I think I'm going to go all out just like you and clay the car, use some swirl remover (is the the color x?) and then put all my coats of NXT back on

Yup, the color x is to remove scratches/swirls. I woulda done a better
job of it had I more time, but I didn't feel like holding off a couple days
and driving around unprotected! I had to get it on!

Does the COLOR X actually polish our the swirls or just fill them temporarly with an oil base?

I picked up the Meguiars special they had running for their new NXT line. This is my opinion...

- The Meguiars NXT carwash solution doesn't lather as well as the Zaino variety, nor their SoftWash Gel.
- The Tech Wax definitely applies easier than any other Meguiars wax product I've used. Not sure if that means its better than Gold Class. Removal is also much easier. I still think Zaino is easier to apply/remove overall - but I don't care to wait for the Zaino products to haze/dry before removal. I haven't had an opportunity to see how water sheds off the paint with the NXT line. I didn't look real close to see if the wax dried clear. Dried wax in cracks bothers me, which is a plus for Zaino.
- I don't see the purpose in waxing the car if surface contaminants exist. So unless you clean the paint again, I wouldn't personally use the Spray Wax. I'll use it when I can, but will continue with the Quik Detailer for quick washes.
- The Tech Protectant seems to be statically charged. I'm not sure if that repels or attracts dust. I haven't been real impressed with any of these plastic/rubber/vinyl cleaners, and I still am not.

But the convenience beats Zaino in my opinion. If it's a garage & car show queen, use Zaino, otherwise NXT is a very good option.

I'd think that for a garage/show car queen you'd want to use something like a pure carnauba paste (zymol, pinnacle) rather than a sterile polymer product..... I've found both Zaino and NXT to be great every day/daily driver paint sealants, but not necessarily show-quality coatings. I think the main thing they bring to the table is their durability - not really a necessity for fanatics/show cars. Just IMHO

I don't think there's anything harsh in the NXT that would mess up aluminum. People use waxed on all kinds of rims. Personally, I've put wax on my chrome ZR1s quite a few times. I can't see how it'd be bad for aluminum. Go for it
