Default has anyone done suede inserts on stock camaro seats?

My driver seat leather is ripped and of course finding a replacement factory seat cover has been pretty much impossible so im gonna have to end up buying new seat covers. I figure if im gonna buy all new seat covers i might as well go with something other then just the plain ebony leather. I know lots of people with camaros get houndstooth inserts but honestly im not sure how i really like that look. I've also tossed around the idea of leaving the seat ebony and doing white leather inserts but not sure how i would like that either. I really like how suede looks and feels and have only seen one set of oem camaro seats that had grey suede inserts and to me that looked better than the other options. If i did the suede though i would probably just get a black suede insert kind of like the trailblazer ss seats. Well anyway enough with my rant does anyone have pics of something like that?

Most of the Dick Harrell cars had microsuede inserts. It looked great.

If you do that do use the brand names Alcantara or ultrasuede. With the cheaper stuff you get what you pay for. Alcantara is very soft and plush, very durable and cleans easily while retaining fluff. The cheaper stuff, not so much.

Oh nice i didn't even realize they came with suede inserts in their seats. I've heard alcantara is the way to go but from what i hear it is also real expensive. I will have to look into how much it will cost.

Last I know of panel grade(thinner) was $94/yd and seating grade was $104/yd. That was through a company called Miami Corp. and was retail pricing for an individual. Of course that could be drastically different depending on your suppliers pricing.

Well i asked around a bit and it actually isn't as expensive as i thought it would be. Suede inserts would actually be cheaper then houndstooth and alcantara is only a lil more then houndstooth. I just gotta decide what color suede or alcantara inserts i would want. Was thinking black but i saw a few pics of fbody seats with black suede and it kind of just blends in which can be a good or bad thing i guess. Grey looks pretty good cuz it adds some color to the interior i just don't know what i should go with since my car is white

Black is like Blllllllack in true sense. If you want the color that matches ebony the code for alcantanra is 9002. They call it anthracite. If you want to see it in person check out any 5th gen with a suede steering wheel or the recaros or any bmw or audi with charcoal interior and suede.

O ok thanks for the info...still also debating whether or not i want colored stitching. Im thinking maybe white stitching and also getting redline goods armrest cover, ebrake cover and shiftboot in black leather with white stitching. I have a pic of a third gen with 4th gen seats that have suede inserts and red stitching attached below.

Id for sure go with white stitching. Great thing about doing alcantara inserts is you can mix and match accessories from Redline to go with it

I will get some pics for you this weekend. As of right now I have an alcantara C6Z shift **** and my passenger side door insert in 9002 alcantara. In my room is my drivers side door taken apart and an e-brake handle cover that I'm working on when I get the chance, hoping to install soon.

Well my friend just bought an 08 bmw m3 and it has an alcantara steering wheel which im pretty sure is the 9002 color that you guys were talking about. It definitely looks pretty good with his black interior as it is a nice deviation from all the black.
