Default Painted t-tops?

I was actually contemplating painting the t-tops the same color as the car. With proper prep, I don't see why this wouldn't hold up as well as the painted body panels? Anyone ever do this?

Edit.... I never remove the t-top shades... missing the incoming light is a non issue....

I saw an SS with the tops painted white to match the car. It looked horrible. The rubber around the tops was still black along with the piece in the center. It did stand out, but not in a good way. You could try some vinyl first to see if you like it. But like I said it didn't look right.

Chief... was thinking the entire top... ito include the rubber moulding, and center section....

Pheonix... I here ya... but that's "kinda" why I was thinking the solid color scheme thing for the roof... unique.

Tudds.... I here ya.... again. No paint it is. Gawd I must be bored...

Thanx for the replies guys.....

There are a few racing oriented fabricators that sell metal and carbon fiber tops to replace yout glass. I've seen them but do not have a link available, but they're out there.

Yup, no LS1 TA with a hardtop, i dont even think pre production had a hardtop. And the heritage TA doesnt really count.
