One thing you can do, is to get yourself a small pen butane torch, and carefully (I mean carefully!) heat up the scuff with the torch. you can slightly melt off the little plastic fibers hanging from the scuff, plus smooth out the surface. If you heat it up too much, you risk making a shiny spot on the plastic. This technique will not remove the scuff completely, but it will make it not so noticeable.

Just remember, LS1tech.com and affiliates are not responsible if someone that is unexperienced actually tries this and lights their car on fire. Probably not a real safe idea.

I think I remember reading or hearing that a light sanding method would work. Dont quote me on this cuz I feel pretty dumb responding with this comment I just made.

Sanding a rippled surface isn't going to work all that well. What I have tried in the past on similar surfaces is a dremel and a wire wheel. It will not make it purfect and you have to be super careful but I did manage to hide them somewhat.

Slow speed, vary pressure where necessary, end with a buffing wheel. If you want even better, it takes some time but you can fix flat spots by heating up the end of a small piece of metal the thickness of a pencil lead. Press it against the plastic and pull away slow. It will raise some of the plastic. At that point, wire wheel to remove excess.

You have to ask yourself though... couldn't you be spending your time on something more important?
