Unhappy Left window open - Rain got in

Long story short, I was late for work and left my passenger window down about 2-3 inches. That really doesn't mix well with the torrential downpours we get here in Florida.

The following morning I tried my best to get the water out with towels, that helped but now the interior smells really bad

Anyone know what's causing it, and how to get rid of the smell?

You gotta take out the interior, carpet. There is probably water under the carpet, that stuff is like a sponge. Get a shop vac and try to suck as much water out as possible and make sure the carpet is dry before it goes back in.

I wouldn't take out all the carpet. It's just like having your home carpet shampooed. I'd take out the seats though. Hey and while your at it, you might as well shampoo the carpets. I used a Bissel on mine. The Bissel will suck out the water or the shop vac like slick said. Then spray some Fabreeze on there and let it dry. Good ta go.

Hope there is no water under the carpet...You can pop the rubber grommets to check that too.
