what I did was tape off the area around the bumper before I started wetsanding to ensure my partially clumsy *** would accidently sand other parts of the body. Go get some masking tape and an exacto knife to get precise lines, just don't press to hard when trimming the tape! Then I wetsanded the area to be painted with some 400 grit then 800 grit. Applied a coat of flat black paint, took a heat gun and evenly heated the coat (was painting during the summer in florida with like 100% humidity that day even inside the garage that was setup like a paint booth with vent fans sucking air out i still had to do this!) Then I put 2 more coats on and used the heat gun! Took me no more than 4 hours. If you are going to do it yourself just take your time and don't rush, painting is a skill that requires a lot of patience! I have had it on for almost a year and a half now and no chips, flakes, or anything! Except for one little spot where my car bottomed out on one of FAU's mountainous speed bumps that are 10 feet long and at least 2and a half feet tall.....
