I think the white comment may have been a joke, but even so if you paint it white and clearcoat it, it shouldn't be hard to keep clean at all. Just wipe it off.

Why would it be a joke?

I say white, or a high gloss black.

You do NOT need high temp paint for an intake. Regular automotive paint is just fine. You will need to use an adhesion promoter since the intake manifold is essentially plastic.

ive always like the red painted intakes but that might be tough to pull off on a white car.

i actually like the white idea, it would look nice.

Wipe it down with a liquid deglosser, like "wilbond" first. It will definitely aid in the adhesion for regualr paints. If heat is not an issue, the krylon fusion is excellent on plastic......

Clean the thing as well as possible, get into those crevasses because if you don't get the dirt out it could potentially create a problem later on for the paint.

Yeah, definatly lets see some pics, here is my metallic silver one. This one was wet-sanded, then base/clear automotive paint. In my opinion its worth every minute and every penny... It cost $60 to get it painted and a few hours in sanding the intake and preping.
