Meguires users enter...questions
alright, decided to go all out and use the mequires kit instead of the zaino....im not seeing the same results from it that other people are claiming. i used the paint cleaner, polish, and nxt wax, and finish. but im not getting the same results. im wondering what recipe you guys/girls have found that puts out the best results, i love how easy it is to go buy my detailing stuff down the street...but ya do you guys use orbital buffers or do the steps by hand? i did it by hand because the bottles dont say anything about buffers...i am comfortable with them and used them many times should i try that? i got a good shine from the products but im not very pleased with the swirl/scratch removing...any tips?
if you want to know this is exacly what i did
washed with dawn
clayed
wash with gold
dried leaf blower/microfiber
applied paint cleaner by hand, removed by hand
appiled polish by hand, removed by hand
applied nxt paste carnuba wax by hand, removed by hand
finished up with the spray enhancer

I use a PC 7424 at about the 4-4.5 setting for polish and waxing (some people use slower or faster speeds, thats just what I feel comfortable with)
My FULL detail session is about the same.
Wash with dawn (which I normally do 2x a year)
Dry with big blue Wal Mart MF towel
Clay
Quick wash or just a quick spray down (depends on how bad I feel the leftover is)
Polish with #7 Pro and PC, remove with Sonus towel by hand
Wax with Gold Class and PC, remove with Sonus towel by hand

Rotary, followed by orbital or DA buff will give you the best results. This is what I do..
-Wash with a good CAR WASH soap.
-Rotary buff with either 3M Dark Glaze or Meguiar's No. 83 Cleaner/Polish with meduim polish pad.
-Finish rotary buff with 3M Finesess-It and finish pad.
-DA Buff with Meguiar's No. 7 Show Car Glaze and finish pad.
-Hand glaze with Race Glaze Polish/Sealant.
-Intial wax with Meguiar's NXT.
-Finish wax with Meguiar's Gold Class.
Might be overkill, but it works for me. I tried Zanio and I am not happy with thier products.

couple of questions.
- What are you not happy with? shine ? Depth? still have swirls ?
- What color is your car?
What I usually do for a first time on the average car:
Wash with Gold Class Car Shampoo
clay
Quik Detailer if necessary to clean up after clay
ScratchX on any bad areas, door dings, etc
#83 on bad swirl areas with a PC and a Meg's 8006 foam pad on speed 4.5 - 5
#80 on the entire car with the PC and a Meg's 8009 foam pad on speed 4.5 - 5
two applications of #21 on the entire car using the PC for application only, using a Meg's 9006 pad on speed of 3 - 3.5, the let cure, and remove with a MF towel.
NXT Paste applied with PC and a 9006 pad at a 3. removed with an oribital buffer and several MF pads
#34
if the paint is in good to great shape due to regular maintenance, then I will skip the #83 and just use the #80 or #82 then go on to the #21
if you are not going to use a PC, and plan on doing it all by hand, then adjust your products approriately.
can you post before / after pics .. might help some of us guide you a bit better.
