SOM WS6 pictures - new showcar project
We just picked this car up friday, and we will be doing some tasteful appearance mods to it. This is 1 of 170 2001 SOM WS6 cars made with an automatic transmission. It also has a very rare 2-tone camel/black interior. I am guessing that it is probably 1 of less than 100 with the same build, but from my gathering they did not keep track of production based upon interior. If they did, I would appreciate it if someone can point me in the direction to find out these numbers. Needless to say, it is a very rare car.
Okay, the car is dirty. I just drove through Louisiana and Mississippi swamp land and smacked about 435y3289y4 bugs. A 1,110 mile trip will make a car dirty. I only did a quick hose down before these pics.
Plans for the car:
Baer Eradispeed rotors
Boyd Smoothies, staggered 17s up front, 18s in the back
polished brake calipers
Polished underhood pieces
stainless steel underhood mirrors
Stryker14 custom airbrushed pieces with stainless steel accents
Corsa exhaust tips
Full stainless steel exterior dress items, including some that are not already shown in the pics
Before we put anything on it
ADDED FRONT BIRD - STAINLESS
ADDED HOOD GRILLES - STAINLESS
The 1980 Z and the 2001 WS6 - The Z will be going up for sale tomorrow.
Let me here some feedback as to the direction I am taking

As far as the Smoothies go, I am about 100% stuck on them. I have always loved them, and this car is begging for some of them. Plus, I think they will show the Eradispeed rotors and polished calipers off.

Not bad!! I'm not feeling the hood inserts, but you are heading in the right direction!! Do you have any interior pics?? The first SOM WS6 I looked at had the color combo and I instantly didn't like it, so I ordered mine with Ebony, it just didn't seem to mesh well with SOM I thought.

Personally, I like it, but about 25% of people I know do not like it.

mmmm, I would have gone black instead of stainless.
There is a local that had a SOM WS6 and with the black inserts it looked really great.
I love the color, my wife doesn't

Don't care for the stainless grilles either. The bird looks okay though. I think an SOM WS6 looks about 95% perfect on the exterior as-is, they just need wheels and lowering springs. Camaros need a lot of help, but Firebirds look great with just wheels.
That interior isn't factory installed leather, its aftermarket (dealership) installed leather. I had the same setup done back in '98 but the opposite way. Mine started as tan but I had the dealer install gray leather seats and door panel inserts.

It might be OEM skins, but I can assure you the car came with gray leather from the factory. The color of the carpet, seatbelts, lower seat plastic, and panels will tell you that. They never made factory 2-tone seats except for the white leather interiors on the 30th T/A, look at the pics I posted for the opposite example.
I'm guessing the buyer wanted tan seats, and the dealership had tan skins installed. Its not "factory" its a dealership installed item. Happens all the time, the dealership installed my gray leather too.
