Default Day Time Runing Lights Question

i have blown the DTR Lights quit a few times.. i have ALWAYS replaced them with the amber ones that came stock on the car. now i have seen other t/a that prolly did not know that they make the amber ones and they replace them with the white ones.. i think that they look ok..

so my question what do you think for my TA? AMBER or WHITE

Replace the sockets, throw in some "switchback" tower style LED's and get a couple EL12 electronic flashers along with some clear corners. Looks real nice.

because they are turn signals.

anyway, good luck finding a clear bulb that doesn't look like watered down egg yolk in there...

These are pics of an Lt1 bird but don't see why something similar can be achieved with a LS1.

PM if you would like to know where I got the LED's. The DRL's are called "switchbacks" which are 3157 LEDs that willl be white when running but turn yellow when you use the turnsignal. They work very well and I had a post about this a little while ago with a video of them in action. The other light in the housing is a wide beam 194 style LED.

His cost about ~$600 for everything. You can get the LED switch backs which flash amber, but are lit white otherwise. White is not legal as a flashing bulb, flashing white, red, and blue, are reserved for emergency or special use vehicles. Chances are you wont get in trouble, but it is illegal. Switchbacks are the solution to that. You can buy a halogen bulb for your signals so it doesn't look like the watered down egg yold Silver02TA mentioned.

LED's wont melt the corner lamp or the new sockets I put on. They run cool.

LED's for all 4 were around $65, 2 electronic EL12 flashers were $30 for both, and the clear corners were around $25 on ebay. Sounds pricey but it all works nice.

edit....I just saw the post above and if you are refering to everything including the HID headlight kit, headlamps, LED lamps/ corner lamps, and foglights then yes it was closer to $600 as stated.

Stick with the Amber ones. Or go the led switchback ones, there was a video on this site for those switchbacks a few days ago.

my friend put blue tinted silver stars in his nbm t/a and they look flippin sweet. a millioin times better than stock. the blue tinted bulbs basically cancel out the **** color yellow illumination and you get a clean clear white look. Looks great. Wish I had some pics to show you tho...
