Details: Camaro, Cobra, Mach1, and 4Runner - many pics
Here are some details from this past week. Hope you all enjoy them.
The owner of this Camaro recently removed some stripes, and there was some scratching and swirling from that process. The rest of the finish had moderate-heavy swirling. I was able to remove about 85% of the defects.
Process:
Zaino Z7 wash
Zaino Z18 clay with DP 4-in-1 as lube
3M Perfect-It Rubbing Compound 06062 via light cutting pad at 1700 rpm
Menzerna PO106FF via polishing pad at 1500 rpm
Zaino Z5 Pro by hand
Zaino Z8
Zaino Z16 on tires and trim
Before:
After:
This 2003 Cobra (10th Anniversary) has been upgraded with a twin turbo setup from HPP Racing and makes about 800 rwhp on 19 lbs. of boost. He requested a "good ole waxing" so that's what he got
It was getting dark by the time I finished, so I'll shoot some better pictures this coming weekend.
Process:
Zaino Z7 wash
Zaino Z18 clay with DP 4-in-1 as lube
Menzerna PO106FF via polishing pad at 1500 rpm
Zaino ZAIO via finishing pad at speed 5 (PC)
Zaino Z5 Pro by hand
Zaino Z8

Next up was a very well maintained Mach1. The owner wanted help dealing with some light swirling and preparation for an upcoming car show. It turned out about 95% defect-free.
Process:
Zaino Z7 wash
Menzerna PO106FF via polishing pad at 1500 rpm
Zaino ZAIO via finishing pad at speed 5 (PC)
Zaino Z5 Pro by hand
Meguiars Final Inspection
Zaino Z16 on tires and trim
Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish on wheels
Last up was a 4Runner that got a good clean-up inside and out.
Process:
Zaino Z7 wash
Zaino ZAIO via polishing pad at speed 6 (PC)
Zaino Clear Seal
Zaino Z16 on tires and trim
As always, questions/comments/advice are welcome

Looks great! How much of a problem is the dusting with the Menzerna polishes? I've been looking for a new polish and I'm torn between Optimum Compound and the Menzerna polishes. I know the Optimum line is famous for its lack of dust, but I'm a bit concerned about its effectiveness with a PC rather than a rotary.

Couple comments/questions:
1) What is the Menzerna PO106FF? Is that the intensive polish?
2) In the first After pic of the Cobra, it looks like there is still a good amount of scratches in the finish. Why do you think that is? Did you not want to use a more abrasive compound?
3) Can that 3M Perfect-It be found in local auto stores? If so, what is the canonical name for it on the shelf, since I figure there are several types of rubbing compound 3M puts out?
4) Always impressed by your work.

First of all, thank you all very much for the kind words!
Hitachi rotary buffer and Porter Cable orbital polisher. Lake Country pads.
Menzerna will dust more than Optimum, but I feel the final results with Menzerna are superior.
1. PO106FF is a cerami-clear polish. It has more initial cut than Final Polish, but it finishes down better.
2. There were some deeper scratches and swirls left, but I got the vast majority out. The owner has skin grafts on his hands, so his washing/drying techniques aren't able to be perfect. My goal was just to make a major improvement on the finish.
3. I bought this 3M from Napa. The number is the easiest way to identify it..
