Z28 + nightshade...pics (looking good)
So today, Bryan woke me up to saying "get out here NIGHTSHADE time!" haha.
A few weeks ago we went to the Pull-A-Part here in Charlotte and found a 3rd brake light and rear side markers that were in good condition so we got them. He got some nightshade from his dad and today he cleaned them up and sprayed them down.
Personally I think they look great. I'm pushing him to do the front blackouts or nightshade the fronts too. It will come eventually.
Here are some before and after pictures. They aren't that great due to lighting and being in a rush, but you get the idea.

Nice way to chop out the "Team Chevrolet" out.
Darn sticker is like burnt into the clear coat I swear.
When I can find another set of front signal markers for cheap I will tint them as well. I just don't want to do it and not like it, and then be stuck with it. Although I believe it will look nice having the front ones tinted as well.

Yes, it is faded like no bodies buisness. I can hit it with some cleaner wax and it will bring it out some, but not for long and it soaks it up. I have to use soo much wax.
One of my projects down the road is to have it and the front bumper re-sprayed because they are both horrible.

600 grit wet sand. I probably should have gone with a lighter grit, but I couldn't find anything higher than 600. I did however dull the paper first by rubbing them together for a while.
If you are going to VHT them, make sure that you do sand them first to remove all the DOT lettering stuff. If not they will stick out like a sore thumb.
Process went like so:
-Sanded off all lettering, then where I didn't scuff with the lettering to make it even
-2 coats of VHT
-Light wet sand
-1 coat VHT
-2 coats of clear
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the compliments guys.
I got a estimate today for 400 bucks to strip and paint both the front and rear bumpers. So we will see.
