LT1 to LS1 SS spoiler ABS INOP light Write-up
ok, since there is no write up, im going to make one for all future references. this is for the LS1 SS spoiler conversion.
shbox.com has a schematic on how to hook up the automotive relay. the schematic can be found here: http://shbox.com/1/relay_for_ss_spoiler.jpg
here is what i did. since they give no write up. this will work for ANY SS spoiler that sets off the ABS INOP light.
i got 2 connectors that slip onto the relay. i used my A/C compressor relay since i have no freeon. you use prongs 85 and 86 on the relay. 85 is for the 2 ground wires, and 86 is for the 2 hot wires. i used my stock Z28 spoiler connector with 2 1/2" of old wire (you can use the OEM SS spoiler connector, but i used the stocker). i stripped the 2 hot wires 1 from the connector, and 1 from the 3rd brake light and crimped them onto one of the connectors for the relay. then i did the same for the 2 ground wires.
the ground wires are black and black/red. yours may be different. yellow is hot and solid red is hot (12V)
then i slipped the connecors onto the relay prongs. 85 is for the 2 grounds and 86 is for the 2 hot wires. 87,87A and 30 are NOT used, so i shrink wrapped them.
here is the end result. this is an OEM SLP spoiler im using.
your plastic trimming will not come in contact with the relay. it still has 1/4" of room.
