Default Oil temp gauge Q?

1. electric or mechanical?
2. do you have to drill the pan? if not where?
3. Celcsius or Farenheit?
4. 140 - 300*F or 100-250*F (which one is better)?

electrical would be better if not you have to plump line to the guage never good to have fluids in car.

and you would probably need to tap the pan to put the temp sender in

1. Electric
2. No drilling of pan - sensor mounts in oil filter adapter - aluminum casting mounted to block - held on with (2) bolts - directly above the oil filter. You can buy an aftermarket adapter with the needed 1/8FNPT tapped hole already in it, or drill and tap your stocker. Thread in sensor with pipe tape on threads, re-install adapter re-using the small metal/rubber gasket, wire gage to sensor.
3. Farenheit - unless you're in Europe
4. 100-250 - oil should never go above 250 - pretty much your choice though - if you don't mind losing resolution on the low end, go with the 140-300
