just to relocate the fuses.....30 miuntes maybe? just depends on how stubborn the big mes of wires wants to be. after i hid the fuses, i spent prob 3 hours so far prepping the surface for body filler, filling in all the holes, sanding them back down, applying a thinner filler, and sanging it back down. now all i hafta do is prime it and shoot the paint!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

well, everything is finally in primer and ready to sand some more. im hoping that before next weekend ill have it painted and ready for shows again. the only thing ill need is someone to cut out some covers for the hole over the fuse boxes. i made a template so all they would have to do is trace it on some metal and cut...anyone know anyone with those capabilities? anways...onto the pictures...

here after i filled in with bondo, sanded it down, and applied light filler over the top and sanded it down. this is right before i primed it...

all covered up

and finally primed. ive found some imperfection, some little dings i didnt notice before so i may go back and fix that, havent decided yet. cant wait to shoot some color on it!...

Evaporate, thanks man...i just used a bed sheet to cover the motor. hang it over the top of the engine and let it drop down past the headers. i used garbage bags to cover the front part of the bay (headlights, brackets, bumper supports), and tin foil to cover up the brake lines and other things that are a little harder to cover (just wrap it up and squeeze it around whatever you want). im going to repaint everything else anyway, so i wasnt too picky about primer getting on the non-motor piece such as the brackets and supports.

toofazt....do you have a template already created for this piece? i dont neeed brushed or stainless....just any smooth non-pitted metal, as im going to paint it silver to blend in and match the car.

motoo, to tell ya the truth, the fuse boxes will be tough to pull back out, but it CAN be done im sure with a little persuading. i can strill acess the fuses easily and change them out if need be bc they are now facing down, so there wont be any neeed to pull the boxes back out unless somethin serious happens...which i dont plan!

My motor is coming out for a rebuild soon. I'll probably be filling in some holes and removing some stuff to clean up the engine bay like I did to my Camaro.

Steve do you make custom stuff for people? I have something I would like to have made, I can make a template and send it to you.

Do you wash the engine bay 3 times a week? I'm guessing the occasional engine cleaning won't affect the wires. And with the fuse boxes being "enclosed" where the air pump was, getting caught in a rain storm wont be a problem either.

I have a ton of little things like this to do to my car but since I don't have a garage and it's 90* and humid out, I can't find the motivation to work on it. I'd rather be inside the air conditioning with a cold beer watching a baseball game haha
