Default Specialized Stainless caps installed

I bought a set of billet caps from Steve at Specialized Stainless. I ordered late Friday and received them Monday at noon! Can't get much better than that. They are quaility pieces and look great. I went with the brushed finish. Should be easier to keep clean than the show polished version. The only problem I had was the brake reservoir cap was a hair to small to fit over the stock cap. I will fix that tomorrow by shaving a little plastic off of the stock cap. I also added the brake reservoir cover, the small piece that fits on the front of the intake and the hexagon piece for the AC dryer. The pictures were taken in the garage so they are not the greatest. I will try to get some better ones tomorrow in the sunlight.

im not really feeling them. I think they would looked better if they were knotched around the edges.

Not bad except for that piece on the AC accumulator, it really sticks out.

That piece is just sitting on top. The unit I have is not the "true" hexagon its more rounded and not flat on top. I guess GM changed styles later on? The jury still out on that piece.

I see what you saying. I like that idea, but I would think that would be alot more machining which would drive the price up.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I thought about the polished but was afraid they would get scratched up. Didn't know that was yours when I was on their site. Very nice

Steve,
Use any of the pictures you want. I will try to get some better ones outside. The brake fluid cap is just small enough that the stock cap won't fit inside the billet piece. I'm just going to "shave" a little of the stock cap. That should work just fine. I will keep them on there all the time so I will use the black RTV you mentioned. Thanks again for a great product!

Sounds good, it's a simple fix but I know some people don't have tools or the know how, that's why I offered Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you

Those are completely different than the ones we make. Theirs are a flat pieces of stainless steel sheet that only cover the top of the caps and not the sides. These are solid billet covers that hide the entire cap. Also if you notice, most of the stock plastic caps have a raised center section. So if you just place a flat sheet of stainless on there, you are going to have gaps or see the sides.

Exactly why I chose the caps. The Emblem Pros pieces are nice but I wanted to cover the entire stock cap. I think they look cleaner without the text.

Steve the design looks great...you should also do a clutch master cylinder cap for us M6 guys. I found one the would fit but it was a PIA (its actually for a C4 Vette the best I can remember!) That extra cap really finishes off the set IMO. (If you already offer it thats cool...I just didnt notice it and I know its always been overlooked.)
