Default another 4l60E or T56

so I am certain that my current transmission won't handle my current motor setup and my 325 dr's. Anyway I am trying to determine whether I should buy another built 4L60E or go the T56 route. Do built Auto's usually last quite a while in comparison to a t56. How much of a headache is it to do the conversion?? I've looked over a few written procedures and it seems like a pain, anyone with first hand experience? I'm only puttin out about 390 tq but with the 325's hookin its alot of stress on the drivetrain.

Just consiter that the transmission is no longer going to be the weak link after making a t56 swap. If your still running the 10 bolt, prepare to upgrade.

The swap is well worth it. If you can pull and replace an auto trans, you can install a 6speed.

But then the weak link is $1000+ clutches. That's why I'm ditching my 6-speed for a TH400. You had also better be a pro at shifting or you are going to run slower.

In your power range there is absolutely no reason for you not to stay with the 60e a properly built 4l60e from any sponsor here will fair well in your application and a stalled auto is the fastest way to go period IMO all things equal

I'm switching from a M6 to a 4l80 ,because i want to be more consistent and will see some track time this spring. I love my M6 on the street but for the track i want a automatic. I never had any problems with my M6 tranny its self ,BUT Ive blew so many rear ends and clutches its not funny. I upgraded to a Spec stage 3+ clutch and a 8.8- 31 spline rear end and not had any troubles at all sense. With the hp your running a 4l60e should hold, but might need a little upgrading, and for what it will cost you to convert to a M6 you could have a 4l60e built to hold or even a 4l80e but a little more work involved.

Well I just had this 4L60E trans rebuilt not too long ago, prolly 10k on it max. Do the performace built units last substantially longer than this? if not I don't want to find myself down this road again
