Default L460E leak

I have a level V l460e that started leaking from the bell housing area during a burnout. We replaced the front seal and it lasted a few miles and started leaking again after a few passes. Any ideas?

Might be a pin hole in the converter or possibly a pump bushing that has spun. Vince

No I would not think that after a year it would just develop. Personally I would look at the pump bushing possibly spinning out and coming in contact with the converter seal.

The shop that is working on it gave it back to me 2 qts low on fluid. I drove it home about 3.5 miles and added about a quart and it showed full. Took it for a short drive...no leak and it took another qt of fluid. They got on it hard enough to take track look off the tires...vht and lots of rocks stuck to tires. Did they damage it burning the tires 2 qts low?

The pump might be damaged at this point. In order to make the repairs the pump will have to be removed from the transmission and inspected. If this is one of our units I prefer that it be returned to us to do the repair. Our pumps are unique in our builds and I would like to see it done exactly how we would have done it originally.

Hard to say if it is in fact damaged or not. Being that the trans had a leak god only knows. When the pump is removed it would be best to do a full inspection. Feel free to contact us if need be. Vince

Thanks. I'm going to see if they still have the old bushing laying around.
