Default 4l60e lockup question

What would have to be done to a lockup 4l60E to get a NON lockup Stall converter to work in it? IS it something you can do without special tools?

They will run without lockup with a really big cooler. And I think its sonax or transgo make a special valve to replace the lockup valve. Though I have never used one.
Real question is why on earth would anyone want to use a non lockup converter with a 4l60e?

You can take the clutch out of the converter, make sure you have ample cooling. But like Performa asked, why do you want to do this?

to be honest I would really like to have a 2800-3000 stall with lockup but have antibaloon plate for my nitrous. I cant find a setup like this and just bought a TCI stall with the anti-b plate and stall i was looking for but its a non lockup which I didn't know until after I received it. Does anybody know of a brand or converter like I am looking for?

We build our converters with a billet front, it is much better than a ballon plate. They are stronger, balance better, and have an oversized area for the lock up clutch. We can custom build you a converter for your car, no problem. Give me a call at work and I can go over some options.
