Default refill the converter or not?

swapped trans with a friend and when he pulled the auto out of his car, he didnt remove the converter from the trans. I figured it would be safe to just bolt it in my car. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOR should i just go ahead and refill it with 1qt of fluid? Figured Id get a few more opinions

If you didnt pull the convertor and drain it then Don't worry about it. There is still quite a bit of fluid still in the convertor since it does not fully drain into the pan anyway while sitting stationary.
The most important thing is to make sure that tranny is full on the dipstick BEFORE you start it up! Most modern (700r4 and newer) trannys will not stand being started up low on fluid. That will burn it up before the vehicle even hits the road.
