Default New trans fill up

Hey everybody I apologize if this has been asked but I have a newly built trans with lines run and a cooler. I am attempting to fill it with fluid and I wondered how I should fill it cause I assume I need to get rid of the air in the rad cooler and the cooler I added any info would be appreciated!

Put four quarts in it. Start the car, put two more in right away. Run the shifter through each position holding it for a few seconds in each. Check the stick. Keep adding until the fluid level is about 1/2" up the stick. Throw a few quarts in the car with a funnel and rag, go for an easy drive, shift it manually through each gear. Add more if needed, drive again, repeat until it's on the full mark and up to full operating temperature.
