Hello,
i have a 1999 Trans am ls1, yesterday the clutch pack for 3-4 gear stopped working, i need a new transmission asap, im not sure what tranny is in the 1999 trans ams, can anyone help me out with that? and also is it cheaper to rebuild it or replace it( me and my dad will be replacing it our selves).
Thanks in advance,
Sam

ok thanks, i was just wondering because my dad owned a race shop in the mid to late 60's. but im not sure if we could figure out a rebuild.
now, i was looking at a FLT 4L60E-3 Street Performance – Level 3, few questions, what hp is this rated at? what is the advantage to have it over a stock one, and since its a higher performance tranny will i have to adjust shift points?

I put a FLT Level 4 and FTI 3600 in my car recently and I didn't have to adjust any shift points. It seems like every car is different though, sometimes people have to make changes and other times they don't.
