6A or 6m trans. in a 4th gen?
can a 2010 Camaro's A6 trans be controlled w/ a 4th gen ECU?
if not can a 2010 Camaro's M6 manuel be used w/ a 4th gen ECU?
I'm thinking the manuel would work just tune it out the Auto. w/ HP tuners?
I'm wanting to upgrade my 99LS1 w/ an LS3 engine and would really like a 6 speed tranny.
Thanks

Check with MAST Motorsports (Supporting Vendor) about their ECU that will work with 6L80E. Better yet they have a thread in Hybrid/Conversion forum where they did it.
While searching Hybrid forum, check out the other 6L80/90E threads. They will give you a better idea of what you are facing transplanting a 6L80/90E.
Questions you might want to ask yourself is what your expecting from it. I'll be honest, for me I found it was only cool factor of saying I've got a 6 speed auto in my car.
Take a look at 6L80/90E gearing and compare it to A4 gearing. You've got 6 speeds, but how useful are all of them.
Two are Overdrive gears. Do you really need two, an if so, how often will 5th overdrive be used.
4.03 First gear is designed to get weight moving, and if your not planing on competing in Pro-Touring events where down shifting as well as up shifting is required, 1st want be of much use due to it's ratio. The 6L80/90 geared right are competitive in straight line racing. Only problem is Aftermarket has just begun to try and fix their weak points. Search this forum for information of that.
A6 gearing: 1st 4.03; 2nd 2.36; 3rd 1.53; 4th 1.15; 5th 0.85; 6th 0.67.
4l80 A4 Gearing: 1st 2.48; 2nd 1.48; 3rd 1.00; 4th .075
TCI 6X Gearing: 1st 2.97; 2nd 2.23; 3rd 1.57; 4th 1.18; 5th 1.00; 6th .075
The interesting thing about the TCI, is it 1st gear and 4th gear ratios, and it gear splits when you compare it to a 5 sp manual or T56 6 sp. Wish it would engine brake. 1st is lower and helps get weight moving, and 4th's 1.18 with 3.54 rear end gives you final drive ratio of 4.19 at strip. Just have 1 extra shift over the A4. I can live with that as with 3.54 rear end ratio, it gives me a 4.19 ratio for strip.
I'm not one who's that much of a believer in gearing combination that produce 1500-1700 RPM in final drive OD. May be great for some parts of country, but not that great even on interstate where I live. Not much flat land...
Do your home work and use some of the gear/tire ratio calculators that allow you to compare MPH and gear ratios on two transmissions at once. Course that is if 6 speed is not just for more than cool factor.
6L80E 66 Corvette.
4l80E based 64 Corvette. Got carried away on this one. Started out with 4L65 and then went with 4l80E based transmission for cool factor too....
By the way, "Cool factor made me post pictures... Neither are on the road yet...
