Default lockup on dyno

When locking the torque converter on a dyno, do you lock it a low rpm before you start making the actual pull, or lock it up once your up in the upper rpm range??? Thanks

lock it down low. they say locking the converter is bad for it on the dyno, and it is, but if your not making a ton of power it's no biggie. lock it low, around 3k

Lock it before you start the pull.

That's not a bad drop from locked to unlocked for that kind of power. What stall do you have?
