4L80E Different for 4.8 and 6.0 engines?
I have been searching the web for a used 4L80E, looking for a 2008 or 09 as they are the latest. In a chevy van both were used behind the LY2 4.8 and LY6 6.0. The 4.8 trannies are a bit cheaper but I'm wondering if they are different inside. Anyone know if the ones for the 6.0s are more heavy duty.
The difference is only $100-200 which isn't that much but I want the best I can get.
Thanks
Jarhead

I'm not sure about that... maybe Chris@ Circle D will chime in here. I believe the 6.0 had the looser stock converter. I could be wrong.
Either way, you might wan to consider having that stock converter loosened up to a max stall if your budget won't allow a new performance converter. Most shops can do that for under $200.00 and the driveability will be remarkably better if you're making more than say 400 hp.
Hope that helps....
