identify this 4L60E & can it work w/LS1...
Got this rebuilt trans with an 01 Z28 parts car & 5.3L motor. It's externally the same as LS1 trans, but the output shaft is different & shorter. Also, the converter is thinner (not diameter, referring to depth). It does not reach the stock LS1 flywheel. My 5.3 did not come with a flywheel. Can I make this work with an LS1? It was mated to the 5.3 and was in the 01 camaro running & driving before the trans let go. I ran some numbers & the bell is an LS1 as well as the tailshaft. Thanks for the help... Scott

It can if you use the collar in the back of the crank same as if you were installing a 350 you will have to use the converter that came with that trans or the 97 back converter style. but the trans is not a direct bolt in no also not you have to us the bell that cam with that trans also not the LSX one.

I'm not sure I followed you on all of that. I googled the part #24206952 on the bell & it showed 98-02 Fbody. The numbers on the converter show 2000 stall. I dont mind using the converter if it will work. Do you offer the spacer & flywheel needed to make it work?

The only 2 4l60s that I know of that came with a torque arm mount were in the f-body and the s-10. From all those pictures it and the converter look just like f-body units to me. Perhaps you are using the wrong flexplate, I dunno. How much space between the converter feet and the flexplate with the converter fully seated in the pump?
