Default Sock filter with deep sump pan for 4L60E

everything I have read says that it is fine to use a stock filter with the deep sump pan. the pan is adding about 2 quarts. Any one have experience otherwise?

the TCI has 'bumps' to be able to use a stock filter.

When I ran that pan I ground down the prongs to let me use a truck filter
instead. But now I run a truck pan.
