Default 4l60e shift lever replacement

How do you replace the manual shift shaft on the driver side of the transmission? This is on a 04 avalanche.

Thanks
Charlie

Its a pretty straight forward install to be honest with you. Drop the pan and there is a nut on the inside of the trans on the shaft. You will have to remove it while pulling the shaft out of the trans. There is a small horseshoe looking clip that is between the rooster cone and the case to keep things centered. You will also have to remove the detent spring in the unit that rides on the rooster to make things a little easier. HTH Vince
