Default 70R4 Questions

Hello, A little background first. I have a 1949 hudson coupe with a 1956 DeSoto Hemi and a 700R4 behind it. I have a bow tie overdrives TV cable kit adjusted properly. While I was back home on spring break the car lost second gear. It will rev out in first and then finally shift to third. Fourth gear is there, as is reverse. I was wondering what could make 2nd go out on these transmissions? I have been relatively easy on it with maybe one full throttle run to second every time I drive it, which is rarely. Any ideas as to the cause? Maybe a sticking governor? It is a stock rebuilt unit. BTW.

Thanks.

Default Hello

Hey Listen up, Pull your servo out and check for a cut or damanged seal on the servo, very common problem after rebuild, Oh and remember, when you reassemble remember big **** on the 4th piston faces out...Hope this helps Dave
