Default Anyone running a PYE 3600???

Just wondering how you guys are launching with a Yank PYE 3600. Are you footbraking and flashing the convertor up or going right off of idle? Should I use a different technique when spraying out of the hole with this convertor? I have not ran the convertor on the spray yet, I'm really trying to get my N/A times down. So far I've tried stalling up to about 2500 and also from idle, with mixed results. If anyone has this convertor, could you please give me some advice on a launching technique, at the track, both for an N/A launch and an N2O launch.

Thanks,
Matt

I have the 3800 stall. My best N/A run has been stalling around 1600-1800. Havent launched on the spray with my new setup.

cool that helps...what kind of 60' did you pull...my best to date was a 1.74 with a 3.73 gear and ET streets @ 14 PSI. that was off idle. I tried with it again with flashing to about 2500 and actually cut less. Maybe the vert likes the smaller flash. I'll try 1700 next week. I've also added some LCA's since then, so hopefully they will help as well. Anybody else have experience with this vert. I was told that I should be able to cut high 1.3's on the nitrous with this convertor, is that true? I was hoping for at least low 1.5's N/A, with my power level.

I have tried several different approaches with my 3200 stall and the spray. Here are the results:

Off spray/ street tires stalled: 1.9
Off spray/ slicks stalled: 1.85

On spray/ street tires stalled: 1.7
On spray/ slicks stalled: 1.61

150 shot, stalled, slicks: 1.59 = broke tranny

If I remember correctly, I tried 2 or 3 times at idle and spraying 100 when 2nd hit, but got alot of wheel spin

See sig for 60Ft N/A. Hope its better with spray. I did get a 1.55 on stock motor/ 100 shot. I talked to yank about the 60 ft times, as I think they are weak. He said to flash it that way. Helped a little, but think it comes alive on Nitrous. Do you have a stock motor?

Yes, I have an absolute stock motor with an LS6 intake. When the tranny broke on me, I had moved from a 100 to a 150 as I was grudging with someone who runs low 11's on the motor. I didnt make it far past the 60ft mark before it went south, but I came out the hole stalled to almost 3500 and damn near breaking the back of my seat standing on the brakes at the line. Investigateing now on maybe putting a L65 in to see how it holds

My motor is by no means stock...I'm putting down 448 to the wheels with my H/C setup. I might try it with a 75 shot this weekend. I realy think that I should be able to pull high 1.5's with this convertor at my N/A power level. I'm really hoping that the LCA's will help. I also just removed the front swaybar. I'm stepping down from the 17" ET street to a 16" ET street, maybe the extra sidewall will help.

I am going to mark the sidewall of my tire with a white triangle, at the valve stem. Video, and slow motion that. I t will tell you if you are wrinkling, and if you have tire spin. I'll let you know the results.

Have you guys ever paid attention to your shift extensions with the PYE3600? I'm so used to looking at the track, that I've never noticed where it is dropping back down to. I think that I need to have my shift extensions raised in order to get the most out of my converter. Is this something I can have done by removing the converter and sending it back to Yank?

Well, I cant get this converter to 60 for anything. My best was a 1.66 on spray. Time to take it out, and have it redone. Something similar to a ss4000. Really disappointed in this, to be honest. Very minimal tire spin.
