Angry New converter does not fit flex plate

I got a new FTI converter but it doesn't fit my flexplate. I guess the bolt pattern is different than the flexplate and my old converter. Are they not universal??? Neither of the 2 bolt patters on the converter will fit. Some advice here please. I guess I need to buy a new flexplate. This is on a TH400.

Looks like you are running the stock flexplate with the LS bolt pattern and the converter probably has the 400/350 bolt pattern setup. So I would suggest getting an aftermarket SFI flexplate with the 350 BP. Also make sure that you are getting good engagement on the pilot to crank fitment.

Thank Chris. How much hp is the stock one good for? Just wondering if I will be OK opening the holes a little to get the bolts to fit, or if I need to buy a new one.

The stock ones crack fairly easy. I suggest getting an SFI one with a dual pattern setup, stronger and no drilling required.
