Default Best Daily driver converter?

I have a friend with a C5 who is converter shopping. I think the rear is a 3.15 gear.

I am curious what the best all around street converter would be for a 3500 pound car with the gear listed about and close to 450RWHP.

I have been out of the loop with converter advancements as of late. DR's will be on the car soon.

would a 3200 stall be a good choice? What STR? what brand?

with that hp level hes probably got peak tq close to 5000rpms so id recommend the tci 3800 2.7...the str is pretty tight so even with the gearing it wont be horrible around town and the stall is high enough his times wont suffer much.

Chris, how about some engine details? 450 RWHP by way of 427ci, FI, or N2O is ALOT different than 450 RWHP made by way of a NA 346ci.

Also, how important are track times to him or does he even go to the track. What kind of tires will he be using. With ET Streets he'll want a high STR and with regular radials he'll want a low STR.

Yank SS3600 would do the trick. Is he going to keep nittos on the car?

If not, a SY 3500 will be a bit looser but more street tire friendly.

He is looking for street/strip performance but DR's will be all that is on the car.

No point in going overboard on nittos. Stay around 3500 stall. If the local track prep is good, go with the higher STR SS3600. If the prep isn't very good, the SY 3500 will make him a pretty consistent bracket racer.
