Is it bad to keep a 4L80E converter locked up during a shift?
I have built a 88 Mustang with a 5.3/4L80E/S475 swap that currently runs mid 10's. I have a Circle D Triple disc converter and am thinking about locking up the converter in second going down the track to help with converter slippage. The trans is stock rebuild with a HD-2 kit. Should I or should I not lock this up in second?

been curious as well. i have a tci 300m input and cant really find any info on this... dont wanna test it lol
would like to find some conclusive info on what type of rpm differential is safe to lock up with as well. is 1000rpm safe, or 1500, or 2000. seems to me the more rpm differential the harder is would be on everything.

The stock 6.0L Express vans upshift 2-3 WOT with a locked converter, couldn't be too bad.
