Default What stall in factory 4l80e 2500 van

Ive been trying to figure out what converter comes in the 2500 express with the lq4/4l80e. Ive seen some people claim its a higher stall (2400) and some think its the regular truck converter. Anyone know?

Should be the higher stall option from the factory. B-82 is the industry number. 2000+, depends on power and weight. Some guys have reported 2500ish out of it. They are a 310mm 60+ pound converter, might be worth an upgrade to get something lighter and a little higher flash in your setup, but not sure on your budget or setup.

Tranny is going behind a LQ4 in a Jeep CJ about 3000lbs w/ 4.10's and 33's. Im look at throwing a cam (218/224 .553/.553 or 224/230 .553/.547, both BTR's truck cams), Im trying figure out if the converter needs to change out or not.

I know this thread is a couple years old. Just wondering how your CJ ram and if you ended up with a stall or factory converter. I’m building the same setup for the most part

It would be best to avoid using a torque-converter that is that big and heavy...

It is unnecessarily stressful to the power-train; especially for a performance oriented engine/ power-train combo!

In my LS swapped 98 Wrangler with a stock 2002 Camaro 4L60E I'm running a stock 2002 Camaro converter. I did this swap 10-12 years ago and its worked find. I don't really beat on it. Summer time mall crawler and I plow my driveway with it in the winter time. 10-12 years ago I didn't know anything about stall converters but have used both Circle and Yank converters in other LS swaps. Stalls in the 2800-3000 rpm range. They drove like a stocker until you put the pedal down.
If you have the cash I would do some type of medium price billet converter. Good luck with your swap. My Wrangler swap has been great.
