Default New rebuilt tranny blown?!

So I dropped my pan earlier to get a closer look at the problems I'm having with dirty lightly burnt tranny fluid with under 600 miles and I find a missing solenoid. What solenoid is this supposed to be for and what's it do? Is it optional?

And here's the pan with its **** fluid and seems to be clutch material at the bottom of the pan and the bottom the filter is dirty.

And found tiny sparkly crumbs all over my catch container after draining the fluid.

And found 5 these broken rings that fell out after I took out the filter

What the hell is going on guys? Please give me in great detail what you think is going on and what you think I should do. All I asked for was a rebuilt tranny that I shouldn't have to worry about.

BTW I haven't dragged race or anything on this new tranny. I drive it like a baby. I just simply drive to work everyday on the turnpike (31 miles) faster than the average driver (70-100mph). I'm light on the throttle. And I'm sure there are people doing 10's spraying, on boost, doing burnouts and stuff on stock tranny with not one bad sign in the fluid, ect.

The broken rings look like the ends of the pins that hold the pinion gears in the planet carrier. This trans is broken and need to be pulled out and repaired
I actually found 2 more of those little rings. Would it still be the pinion gears? And does this tranny need a full rebuild or partial "whatever is broken" rebuild? There is lots of sparkly material all over the bottom of the pan (I would like to know what that is) and a lot of clutch material as well. Maybe I'm saying two things at once.

After looking at the pics again on my home computer, which has a bigger screen, I think those may be broken springs from most likely the input drum. The sparkly material all over the bottom of the pan is where the spring retainer is grinding on the input drum. The snap ring the holds the spring retainer has been known to come loose. The trans should be under warranty so most likely whatever is broken. The trans will need to be completely disassembled and cleaned, along with flushing or replacing the toque convertor and trans cooler.

Do you mean the Overrun clutch return spring? Can't you put stiffer springs in that? And could that be a big reason why there's so much burnt clutch all over the place?

Anyways thanks for taking the time to help.

Is this a '94 F-body, That explains the TCC PWM solenoid missing, F-bodies didn't have PWM TCC apply 'til '95.

As Bbond pointed out, Those are clutch return springs. Take it back immediately!

Does anyone know how this possibly could of happen? Fluid pressure, misassembly, overheating? I'd like to know, to ask the builder some key questions to make sure this or any failure doesn't happen again in the near future.

Perhaps the builder reused the older style forward piston which used "loose" springs instead of a spring cage. It would have only cost a few dollars to upgrade to the newer and stronger molded pistons and spring cage.

Mr Bond: in post #2 I think you you mixed up the TCC "feel" solenoid with the 3-2 downshift solenoid. Please edit your post to correct or clarify it.

Is that one of the weak points in these Trans? If you are right about what your saying, am I treading on thin ice if he uses the stock one? The Trans gets pulled and disassembled tomorrow for a rebuild. Are there any other parts I should be aware of?

Thanks
