B&M transmission cooler install. Direction of flow matter?
I put a B&M 70264 cooler in a few days ago and I was wondering if it matters where you hook your incoming oil and your return line on the cooler? Should cool the same in either direction no?

I have wondered the same thing and couldn't find anything. I have put two different ones on my car and just ran them like the stock cooler with the out line going to the bottom of the cooler and the top going back into the transmission. Don't know if it's right or wrong or does not matter tho

I don't see where it would make any difference. I would suggest that if you're mounting it in a standing position, line in should be on top to have gravity working with it to ease strain on pump.

I bypassed the stock radiator cooler but mounted my aftermarket cooler with the bottom fitting being the transmission out pushing fluid up the cooler, and the top fitting being the transmission in. Just like the stock cooler is routed.

I think I figured it out though. The bottom line on our cars is the out line or the "hot fluid" and the top is the inlet back. I found in b&m's instructions that they recommend you hook up the hot side to the upper left. So I have mine hooked up correctly.
I did mine the same way as this one except I bypassed the stock cooler....

So if the cooler in that picture is turned 90 degrees and the fittings are parallel/on top of each other, in the instructions they say to run the transmission out to the top cooler fitting which in turn would push the fluid down the cooler, than the bottom fitting would go to the IN on the transmission, correct?
Here is a pic of mine. The hose you see in the picture is the "hot fluid" and I used that port on the cooler as the inlet.
